Day 1: Begin with a 5-hour canoe journey, winding through ancient landscapes. Settle into camp that evening with a hearty rustic dinner and evening entertainment under the stars.


Day 2: Awaken to birdsong and paddle further downriver, learning local stories, spotting native wildlife, and listening for the haunting call of the kiwi at night.

Day 3: Arrive at Tīeke Kāinga, where you’ll be welcomed with a traditional pōwhiri and treated to a hāngī feast.

Day 4: Take a day off the river to explore the surrounding bush, visit a historic pā site, or simply relax and take it all in.

Day 5: Get your adrenaline flowing with a rapid run—our navigators will teach you how to safely ride the currents, always at a pace that suits your group. 

End your journey with a shared lunch before returning to Taumarunui, full of stories, laughter, and lifelong memories.
